Kimberley Walsh: My shape is more womanly than the model look

Cheryl Cole's Girls Aloud bandmate opens up about her killer curves and feeling physically fit

Kimberley Walsh displayed her womanly curves with pride on Strictly Come Dancing 2012.

But the Girls Aloud songstress, whose derriere has now become so famous it has its own Twitter page, admits she still finds it hard to talk about herself being sexy.

Kimberley Walsh revealed her famous bottom even has its own Twitter page ©CosmopolitanFlaunting her sizzling hourglass figure in a number of fashion-forward outfits for Cosmopolitan, Kimberley said her figure is much more womanly that the type you typically see strutting down the catwalk.

She said: “I find it hard to talk about myself being sexy, but I guess my shape is more womanly than the model look, and that’s sexier.

"I go with it; that’s how I am!..."

"But it’s not like putting on a dress suddenly makes you feel sexy. You need to feel good about yourself first. And I do – physically I’m really fit, and I’m really happy.”

It seems it's not just Kimberley's fans who are keen admirers of her curves either.

She joked that her bandmate Nicola Roberts finds it hard to keep her hands off them too.

"Nicola loves to give my bum a squeeze too," she laughed. "She’s very toned and a completely different shape so she’s like, ‘It’s a sponge!’”

Kimberley's killer curves are so popular that they've even spurned their own Twitter page.

"Something about my bum was trending on Twitter recently and I was like, ‘Oh, my god, you lot are crazy!’

The songstress had a jam-packed 2012, what with Girls Aloud's reunion and her appearance in Strictly Come Dancing.

And despite a lengthy hiatus from the band, she said it's just like old times now they're back together.

“It’s really nice," she said. "We’ve already fallen back into the same patterns; it’s weird.

"Well, Sarah’s not really a party animal anymore so that’s changed, but I still fulfil the same role.

"Like, on our first performance everyone was getting really nervous and I was thinking, ‘Right, OK, let’s try to calm this situation down.’"

And while many of us would tire just looking at Kimberley's busy schedule, the star admits she's always striving to prove herself.

“I love a challenge," she smiled. "If there’s something where I’m like, ‘I don’t know if I can do that,’ I’ll do it – just to prove I can. What can I say? I’m a glutton for punishment. I’m a bit psycho like that…”

So is there any chance of her settling down in the future?

The star, who has been dating Justin Scott for 10 years, said she's in no rush to walk down the aisle.

“I’ve never been one of those girls who’s like, ‘Oh, my god, my wedding day is going to be the be-all and end-all of my life,' she said.

"I have divorced parents, so you try to be really sensible and not do it until the time is really right, and then it just goes on and on, and then you don’t have the time! But eventually we will.”

A family is definitely on Kimberley's agenda though, as she revealed she has been considering her future.

She explained: “I’ve started looking to the future a bit more.

"I do eventually want to settle down and have a family, which is why I’m fulfilling all of my dreams and selfish ambitions right now.

"I could definitely have a baby as part of Girls Aloud. The girls would support me because, as much as we put the group first, family is more important than any job. I’m not there yet, though.”
