Kate Middleton's Style By Numbers: The Duchess Effect Infographic

Could it be that Kate Middleton is now the UK's - possibly the world's - most bankable fashion star? It emerged earlier this year that the Duchess of Cambridge's style choices has brought an astounding £1billion into the ailing British economy, eclipsing anything generated by supermodels, music stars and even Oscar winners (and that's no easy feat). What we do know is when Kate wears it, it sells. So Grazia Daily's done the Kateonomics and compiled a nifty summary of the effect she's had on sales and just how she did it...

So let's take a look at how she did it...

2: Dresses worn by Kate which have also been spotted on TOWIE cast members; Amy Childs wore the lace Zara dress Kate wore to Gary Barlow’s charity gig at the Albert Hall, and Lydia Bright donned the same Reiss number that Kate wore to meet the Obamas. We don’t need to play ‘who looked best’, do we?

5: The number of pairs of LK Bennett shoes Kate has been spotted in. Surprisingly, only two of these are nude pumps. Well-worn nude pumps, obviously.

13: Number of stores-within-stores that (Kate’s high street label of choice) Reiss is planning to open in the US within the next year. This will probably make them almost as popular in America as Kate herself. Or ‘One Direction’.

15: The denier of those sheen-tastic tights the Duchess is believed to favour.

17 x 16: Approximate size, in inches, of Kate’s most substantial headpiece to date - the asymmetric Gina Foster hat which Kate wore to the wedding of Mike Tindall and Zara Phillips [above]. Epic.

39: Kate’s shoe size, according to the base of her favourite ‘Sliver’ taupe pumps by L K Bennett.

188: Kate’s approximate height, in cm, when wearing her party shoes – the Jimmy Choo Vamp glitter sandals. That’s 6’2”! Which is only slightly less than the height of both Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.

£1bn: The amount the Duchess of Cambridge is credited with boosting the country’s faltering economy. Her fashion choices cause an army of copycat fans to empty shops and online retailers to recreate her signature style.

73: The percentage sales increase of Kate’s favoured tasselled riding boot since her engagement. Penelope Chilvers’ £473 conker-leather boot is one of the company’s bestselling lines.

375: The number of hours it took to affix the 1750 sequins to the incredible Jenny Packham dress Kate wore to last year’s ARK gala dinner [below].

4,034,937: Number of page hits, between April 2011 and April 2012 on mother-of-all Kate style blogs, www.whatkatewore.com. ‘I thought it would level off, or taper off, rather than continue to grow’, founder Susan Kelley told us. Oddly, we didn’t ever think that.

45: The minutes it takes to achieve a free-flowing blow-dry like Kates. Thanks to resident hair stylist Richard Ward.

500: The amount in US dollars that the Reiss Shola dress fetched on eBay. Pictured greeting the Obamas in her first post-honeymoon snaps, Kate wore in the beige bandage dress at Buckingham Palace. She caused the first of many fashion frenzies when desperate fans crashed the Reiss website in a bid to buy the dress.

811: The style of Kate’s favourite J Brand skinnies. They came out a number of times in her tour of North America.
