Kate Middleton’s secret stylist revealed to be Prince George’s GODMOTHER?

She always has impeccable style and chooses occasion-appropriate outfits - and now we know why.

The Duchess of Cambridge has hired long-time friend Emilia Jardine-Paterson as her stylist, according to reports.

It’s thought that interior designer Emilia has been styling Kate Middleton behind-the-scenes for the past few months – including at the Royal Christening when she wore Alexander McQueen.

The 31-year-old – who met Kate at Marlborough College - has been trying to push the Duchess away from neutrals and towards a brighter colour palette.

“Emilia is trying to move Kate away from the Middleton neutral palate and push her towards colour or pattern,” a source told Grazia.

“Emilia loves vintage and tries to get Kate to be a bit more quirky. When they were at school she used to tease Kate about her prim Jigsaw shirts and hated those fur gilets Kate wore.”

The pair have been friends since they were 13 so it’s no surprise that Kate trusts her opinion when it comes to style.

“Kate admires Emilia’s style. Emilia has become increasingly important to her and Kate always uses her as a sounding board,” said the source.

And it seems Emilia’s interior design background has come in handy as she’s been helping the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge renovate their new Kensington Palace home.

“Emilia has kept to the same ethos when advising Kate on interior decor,” said a source.

“Kate had wanted it all muted beiges and neutrals, but Emilia has encouraged more colour.”

According to royal biographer Katie Nicholl, Emilia was the one who set up the couple when they were at university – so it’s no wonder they’ve chosen her to be Prince George’s godmother.
