1 She has a rather risqué relative. Katrina Darling, her second cousin twice removed, is a stripper who’s posed for Playboy and Loaded magazine – but has reportedly made no effort to contact the royal.

2 Kate Middleton set a high-jump record of 1.50 metres when she attended St. Andrew’s School in Berkshire – which has yet to be beaten.

3 The song that was number one when Kate was born was ‘Don’t You Want Me’ by The Human League. We reckon this shaped her life in a BIG way…

4 She might have married into royalty but Kate is from a decisively working-class background, including coal-miners and builders. It was her maternal grandmother, Dorothy Goldsmith, who changed the course of history by encouraging her daughter, Carole, to aim high. Carole became an air-hostess - where she met her soon-to-be husband, Michael Middleton.

5 Kate was something of a drama queen at school, performing as Eliza Doolittle in ‘My Fair Lady’ and Prince Charming in ‘Cinderella’ (coincidentally, she went on to marry her very own Prince Charming).

6 Kate took a gap year after her A-Levels at Malborough College - first to Florence, Italy, where she started an intensive 12-week course at the British Institute of Florence and then to Chile – just weeks after Prince William, in fact.

7 Kate’s nickname at school was ‘Squeak’ – and her sister was called ‘Pip’ (which they soon named their pet guinea-pigs.)

8 She dressed up as Cheryl Cole and performed Chezza’s track ‘Fight For This Love’ at her hen-do in 2011. Yep, the Duchess of Cambridge waved goodbye to single life dressed in a cut-out, military-style outfit, singing about love-rat Ashley Cole. Believe it.

9 Kate fills her brows in with Bobbi Brown eyeshadow in the shade ‘Saddle’ and keeps her skin soft with Trilogy’s Rosehip Oil.

10 The Duchess has a three-inch scar on her scalp. A palace spokesman confirmed it was related to a ‘very serious operation’ that she has a child – but hasn’t revealed what it was from. A school friend reckons it was from an injury she sustained during a hockey match at Marlborough College.

11 She’s actually pretty sassy. Check her out rolling her eyes after being instructed to ‘keep rolling!’ by a woman at a gift-wrapping station in NYC.

12 We all know that Ellie Goulding performed at the Royal Wedding – but did you know that the couple were spotted dancing along to the Body Rockers' hit "I Like The Way You Move" at a pal’s wedding? We can totally imagine Kate giving William’s dad-dancing the eye-roll.

13 US drama ‘One Tree Hill’ is one of her favourite TV shows, according to the show’s creator. He was reportedly approached to put some box sets together for her and Wills, which he sent to the royal couple while they were living in Anglesey.

14 Kate’s statuesque height meant she was the perfect person to play goal defence in netball. Don’t mess with the Middletons in a netball match, people.

15 She joined the Brownies with her little sister Pippa in 1990 and was described by the former pack leader as ‘quite easygoing.’

16 Her husband, Prince William, proposed to her in a remote hut while the pair were on holiday in Kenya in 2010 - with his mother Princess Diana’s ring, no less.

17 Catherine only spent two terms at Downe House School in Berkshire before her parents moved her to Marlborough College. She reportedly left because she was being bullied for being ‘too perfect.’ It’s no wonder then that Kate asked her guests to donate to anti-bullying charity Beatbullying at her wedding.

18 Her favourite dessert is sticky toffee pudding and she’s partial to the odd Pina Colada – and a glass of Jack Daniel’s.

19 Kate was the first member of her family to go to university. She studied Art History at the University of St. Andrew’s in Scotland, where she met her future husband, William.

20 Her first job was as an assistant accessories buyer for fashion brand Jigsaw after she finished uni. No paper-rounds for this future royal…

21 If Prince William becomes King, she’ll be the first British monarch with a degree.
