Kate Hudson Blog EXCLUSIVE: Movie Megastar Talks Exercise, Green Juices And Her New Fitness Brand

So as you might have seen, last week Yahoo Lifestyle editor Natasha Bird had the pleasure of interviewing movie mega-babe Kate Hudson about all manner of interesting things, such as how freakin' hard it is to lose a tonne of baby weight...and how much she'd love to get in on a hot yoga session with Jessica Alba (yup, us too Kate, us too).

But this week, we're even luckier, because the delightful Kate Hudson has taken a smoothie-break in her busy day, to pen a little blog post, just for us!

Considering all the keen interest we had surrounding Kate's hot bod and just exactly how she maintains her healthy lifestyle, we asked her to give us a run down of her day, basically so that we can copy everything she does, down to the last letter.

So here we go!

Kate Hudson:

The problem, as a mother

As a mom, I find that one of my biggest workout challenges is motivation and budgeting the time. Workouts that allow me to burn calories while spending time with my family are key.  I also really prefer outdoor workouts, so when the weather and my schedule permits, I try to do my exercise outside, whether going for a run or taking a family bike ride.

I start the day by pulling on my signature workout look, which consists of a sexy sports bra, cropped leggings and a loose tee. I find that every great workout starts with the clothes – if I can get into my workout gear, that’s half the battle and motivation to get me out the door to break a sweat.

It's because this is so important, that I decided to cofound my own activewear company, to make fashionable, affordable workout clothing accessible to women.

A glimpse into how I stay active throughout the day

Since I planned a morning workout, I go light on breakfast with a green juice. I then strap Bing into his jogging stroller and head out for a run.

After our run, I take a quick shower, slather on some coconut oil and quickly do my hair and makeup.

In the summer, I like to keep my beauty regimen light and natural.  I always wear SPF 30 sunscreen and top it off with a little cheek stain and lip gloss.

For lunch, I prepare a Greek fig mozzarella salad. Refreshing and satisfying - it’s a perfect summer dish.

I prefer to eat fresh and seasonally, and I always try to make my own meals whenever I can.

Dancing is one of my favorite workouts, and this afternoon I am lucky enough to find some me-time for a few friends come over to do some ballroom dancing in my studio.

I really love contemporary jazz and hip hop dance, but lately I’ve been really into ballroom dancing.

Family dance parties are a common occurrence at my house!

For a snack, I have some sliced cucumber and white onion topped with lemon juice, jalapeno and salt.

After some soccer in the yard with the kids, dinner is a bit of a splurge – PIZZA.

Kale, Squash and Butternut -not all Pizza is created equal.

But a small piece is just 150 calories, which means I can have three for a meal! For me, eating right is really all about balance and everything in moderation.

While, for the most part, I try to keep my meals healthy, I do indulge about three times a week.
