Junk food

Junk food is a term used to describe food which has poor nutritional qualities and harmful effects on the body; for example, foods which contain a high percentage of fat, salt, sugar or chemicals. Junk food, which is often fast-food such as burgers and chips, can lead to weight gain, high blood pressure and diabetes if eaten regularly. Confectionary, fizzy drinks, pizza and takeaways are all considered junk food and should only be consumed infrequently, if at all.
