She’s somewhat of a style chameleon – looking glamorous on the red carpet and showing off her edgier fashion choices in real life.
But Jennifer Lawrence has gone for a whole new look for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire promo trail – a pixie cut!
The 23-year-old Oscar winner showcased her new shorter locks in a Q&A session with Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer in Sunnyvale, US, yesterday.
The Kentucky native – rumoured to be back together with X-Men co-star Nicholas Hoult – explained the reason for the sudden change on stage.
“I cut it earlier and it grew to like here and then it grew to that awkward gross length and I just kept putting it in a bun and I thought ‘I don’t want to do this’ so I just cut it all off,” she told the crowd.
And after the woman in the Q&A session said she felt inspired by her new edgier hairdo, J-Law responded that her hair couldn’t have got any worse before.
“It couldn’t get any uglier!” she joked.
But of course any avid Hunger Games fan will know that Jennifer’s character Katniss sports a plait for the duration of the movie. So can we expect Katniss to rock the pixie cut too?
“Oh no, this isn’t how Katniss will look in the next movie,” said Jennifer.
The stunning actress – who won the Best Actress Oscar this year for her performance in Silver Linings Playbook – isn’t the first celeb to go for the chop.
Emma Watson famously cut off all her hair after Harry Potter ended – while Anne Hathaway chopped it all off for her portrayal of Fantine in Les Miserables.
