'Being gay didn't stop me having children'


Having a gay dad isn’t as unusual as it once was – in the past two years alone the number of gay men approved to adopt has doubled.

Myleene meets Peter, who adopted two sons, now aged nine and six, with his partner David.


He talks about equipping his sons to cope with challenging comments from kids in the playground and the universal parenting worries such as setting boundaries, discipline and providing for the family.

For those thinking of adopting Peter explains that caring for children is where the challenge lies, making sure that you’re prepared to care for kids who’ve had a difficult start in life and being ready to engage with them as individuals.
