All you do is put the whole head of garlic into a jar (Mason or otherwise), shake it to oblivion for about 20 seconds, then tip out into a bowl and fish out the skinned garlic cloves. And you can neatly throw the skin directly into the bin. Perfect for cooks who hate mess too.
