Dame Helen Mirren sizzles in red lace for Hong Kong red carpet, but haven't we seen that before on Kim Kardashian?!

They're two stars we would never expect to have a fashion snap on the red carpet.

Dame Helen Mirren, 68 and Kim Kardashian, 32 have proved their usually differing fashions sometimes mysteriously overlap however, as they've both been spied in this sizzling red lace creation.

Making a showstopping appearance at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel's 50th anniversary celebration in Hong Kong last night, Dame Helen had jaws dropping as she poured her curves into a D&G version.

Hugging her hourglass curves, the long-sleeved gown accentuated the British star's figure, with a low-slung embellished cross belt highlighting her enviable waistline.

Teaming her fashion-forward look with oversized costume jewellery earrings, the actress wore her locks in a slicked-back bob and added a flash of a deep-red lipstick to complete the look.

Posing for paparazzi on the red carpet, Dame Helen was all smiles for the cameras as she stole the show at the event in the dress - which pooled around her feet.

It seems the star impressed more than the hordes of snappers eagerly awaiting her arrival too, as she was later spied posing with London mayor Boris Johnson on the red carpet.

But while Dame Helen stole the show in the red lace creation over in Hong Kong, it's not the first time the dress has made a huge splash on the red carpet.

Kim Kardashian first donned a similar version of the dress back in May 2012, when she stepped out in a midi version for the launch of her True Reflection fragrance in London.

With a scalloped neckline and hem, Kim's bodycon version featured the same luxe long-sleeves and white underlay.

But rather than vamp hers up like Dame Helen, Kanye West's beau kept the rest of her look to a minimum, adding gladiator-inspired ankle-strapped stilettos and diamond earrings.

Wearing her long dark locks in a slicked-back ponytail, Kim just added a smokey eye and nude lips to compliment the dress - as she posed for photographers at the bash.

While Kim made headlines in the curve-enhancing number, it seems the reality TV star might have plucked it straight out of someone else's wardrobe - rather than off the stylist's rack.

Kim's mum Kris Jenner was first spied in the dress a few weeks before Kim, attending a party in Hollywood in the lace dress.
