Miss England hopeful reveals the photo that made her lose five stone

A super-slimming model is hoping for beauty pagent glory after she shed five stone before becoming a Miss England finalist

Gorgeous Nadina Knight, 24, went down four dress sizes as she transformed her 15 stone frame in to that of a svelte beauty pageant winner.

The pretty model lost the weight after she saw her 21st birthday party pictures and realised that she had ballooned in size since she went to university.

Distraught Nadia abandoned her student diet of takeaways and hit the gym with striking results.

After she shed the stones, Nadina started modelling and was named Miss Northampton in March.

Now, she is hoping to be crowned Miss England in this month's national finals.

Nadina said her success was due to hard work and determination which she used to drop from 15 stone to 10.

The extraordinary weight loss was sparked after she leafed through a collection of 21st birthday photos.

She said: "My mum was concerned because she is diabetic and she expressed concerns about my size.

"I obviously didn't take it well but I saw my 21st birthday pictures and I couldn't believe how big I was.

"I had been caught off guard and there was just so much of me and I think that was when I thought 'my mum is right'.

"I started to research because I wanted to change my whole lifestyle and stay think for good.

"There isn't a secret. I stuck to three meals a day and stopped eating starchy stuff and turned to brown carbohydrates instead of white.

"The fact that I've got so far this year in Miss England was down to my confidence. When I realised how big I was, my confidence was shot. But now I have got it all back.

"I lost weight for my own happiness but it has made me confident. The only thing that could make me happier is if I was Miss England."

The stunning model, from Northampton, Northants., secured her place in the Miss England final after competing against 60 other hopefuls in the semi-finals in Leicester, Leics., on May 30.

She impressed judges in each of the three rounds - booking her place at the finals in Birmingham, which start on June 23.

Along with 59 other models, Nadina will take part in a two-day boot camp - including a fitness test and a modelling round.

The winners will then be fast-tracked through to the top 15 at the grand final on June 26.
