Fad diet

This is the name given to a new diet which is deemed a new craze or popular weight loss technique, often among celebrities. They are often not the healthiest or most effective ways to lose weight as they are prone to being unusual, for example, the maple syrup diet and the baby food diet. Most dieticians would recommend a simple, balanced diet based on protein, carbohydrates, fruit and vegetables, rather than restricting your diet to one type of food.
