Spring is the perfect time to shake up your make-up bag – but it can also be pretty daunting if you don’t know what suits you.

A look we’ve been loving here at Yahoo HQ is orange lippie – worn by actresses Emma Watson and Shailene Woodley on the red carpet recently.

We tracked down expert make-up artist Justine Jenkins – who’s worked with Fearne Cotton and Abbey Clancy in the past – to find out how readers can work the new spring trend on any skintone.

“As we head towards the Spring/Summer season, the orange lip phenomenon takes hold,” said the cruelty-free make-up ambassador.

“The inspiration for my favourite shade is Mediterranean coral - the perfect balance between red and orange, it looks modern and instantly glam.

Justine’s guide to working the trend on any skintone:

Fair skin - the softer peach oranges create a very wearable pretty day look, especially for blondes, and a bright orange will look sexy and fun for evening. Try Liz Earle Lip Colour in Blossom.

Medium tones - you can basically get away with all hues, from the bright orangey reds to the corals and the softer peachy oranges. Justine’s top tips for working the trend:

Keep the rest of your make up simple, a black feline flick and mascara looks great on blondes or fair skin with a dab of pale highlighter in the inner corner off the eye.

Gold or bronze shimmer eyeshadow works well with medium and darker skin tones.

Remember if you're wearing the brighter oranges, keep the rest of your make up simple and go easy on any blusher, you don't want to end up looking like Aunt Sally.

If you have a lot of redness in your skin, I would avoid the orange lip trend as it will just make you look too red. Use a lip liner to prevent any bleeding and maintain the colour for longer.
