We’ve been following her every move since her brilliant performance as the fiery red head assistant err Emily, in the fashion fest movie that is The Devil Wears Prada and its fair to say that Brit actress Emily Blunt rarely puts a Jimmy Choo clad foot wrong!
After her fashion education on The Devil Wears Prada (which was styled by Sex and the City’s stylist-supremeo Patricia Field) Emily went on to become the face of Yves Saint Laurent’s signature fragrance Opium, a partnership that has seen the now Hollywood star make what is her only fashion week appearance at their ready-to-wear show. And of course as an ambassador of the French fashion house Emily’s wardrobe has done rather well too- the Yves Saint Laurent purple silk blouse and gold croc skirt outfit she wore to theSpring/Summer ’12 show being a particular triumph.
Despite her British roots Emily’s got the LA gloss thing down pat, her shiny sharp bob- which looks just as good in an up ‘do as it does down, old Hollywood eyeliner and bright lip colour ooze glamour whilst her formula for show-stopping dresses artfully teamed with minimal accessories, really does cut the fashion mustard- especially with the caliber of designers Emily is wearing, this girl can totally pull off a runway lookwith the same stance and ease we might a Topshop shift dress! And whilst ‘50s silhouettes (like the stunning monochrome Naeem Khan strapless number Emilywore to the LA premiere of her new film Salmon Fishing in the Yemen) look killer on her (its that old Hollywood vibe rearing its head again) Ms. Blunt can totally rock something as uber modern as the pink Marios Schwab trellisdress she stepped out in recently. As with Emily it’s all about her undeniable presence, the punch that in the last six years has earned her countless award nominations, a Golden Globe and a high fashion campaign, not bad for 29! To put it Bluntly- Emily rocks.
