Domino's Pizza: Is the 'Chicken Crust' The New Stuffed Crust?

Because yum.

Who wants to stick to a pesky diet when you could scarf down 1,000 calories in one sitting?

We're just kidding about the 1,000 calories - as far as we can tell, Domino's hasn't released an official calorie count for the new "speciality chicken" options.

Probably with good reason!

According to an interview with an American newpaper, the fast food chain is keen to become "a legitimate player in the chicken business."

Watch out Morley's!

To say that chicken has replaced pizza crust in these new menu additons is a bit misleading.

In fact, the chicken has replaced the dough altogether!

The "speciality chicken" orders consist of twelve pieces of boneless, breadcrumb-coated, fried chicken bites, covered in four different topping options.

You can either choose the crispy bacon and tomato, the classic hot buffalo, the spicy jalapeno-pineapple or the sweet BBQ bacon.

Domino's isn't the first fast food chain to use chicken as a bread replacement.

In 2010, KFC introduced the world to it's "Double Down" sandwich - essentially, a bacon-cheese burger that used two fried chicken breasts as its bun.

And people travelled for miles to sample it!

According to an independent study, the "Double Down" clocked in at a whopping 1,228 calories - so we might not have been too far off with our earlier prediciton!
