Did your relationship survive the most adulterous day of the year?

Yesterday was dubbed the most adulterous day of the year, as people look to get over the January blues with an affair.

New Year is a high time for extra marital affairs, peaking on the day the majority of the British public return to work.

Returning to the monotony of day to day life, depression after the festivities are over and boredom are all said to contribute to people looking elsewhere to get their kicks.

Apparently one in eight men consider adultery after Christmas revealed research by ITV's Daybreak, with those living in London being the most unfaithful.

According to their stats, over 30% of the nation has had an affair, whereas 45% of Londoners polled said they had done the nasty.

Those more faithful folks in the West Midlands faired better, with only 20% admitted to cheating. However Wales came out as the most committed place, as only three percent of people said they would ever consider infidelity.

Living up to the stereotype, 30% of men admitted they would cheat if they knew they could get away with it, whereas only one in ten women said the same.

Naughty naughty.
