Creme Eggs In 2015 Are Not As We Remember: Bring Back Our Creme Eggs!

Cadbury's Creme Eggs have been downsized and instead of our much-loved Dairy Milk it we've got some inferior blend covering the gooey heart of our favourite Easter treat

Now that Christmas is over it's time we got excited about Easter. Yes. And for many of us Easter means one thing - Cadbury's Creme Eggs.

But this year all that could change, as Kraft - the company that bought Cadbury's in 2010 - has gone and changed the recipe. And made the packs smaller to boot.

Now, instead of a delicious Dairy Milk shell, Creme Eggs will be made of a 'standard cocoa mix chocolate'. Wow that sounds tasty.

First the demise of Cadbury's chocolate coins and now this.

Understandably the internet is up in arms about the change. Packs have decreased in cost by 20p, but that's not much considering we're an egg short. (There are now five eggs where once we had six.) And as the treat is only on sale for three months a year, that means a sadly tiny number of Creme Eggs in your life in 2015.

The Sun investigated the matter after claims were made that the eggs didn't taste the same and that there were definitely not as many of them as usual.

And in response a spokesperson for Kraft confirmed that changes had been made, but claimed that quality had improved.

"It's no longer Dairy Milk. It's similar, but not exactly Dairy Milk.

"We tested the new one with consumers. It was found to be the best one for the Creme Egg, which is why we've used it this year.

"The Creme Egg has never been called the Cadbury's Dairy Milk Creme Egg. We have never played on the fact that Dairy Milk chocolate was used."

Be that as it may, Kraft, but it was definitely assumed that Cadbury's Creme Eggs would be made of Cadbury's Dairy Milk. Are you about to tell us the Flake is not actually made of flaky Cadbury's Dairy Milk also? Never!

Cadbury's Creme Egg posted about its return on Facebook, writing: "Creme Eggs are back. And we’re totes emosh."

But sadly for the company most of the comments on the image were negative, asking where the extra egg was and why the chocolate didn't taste as good.

But remember, people, we brought back the Wispa. We can do anything. And as Kraft are also responsible for Hershey's - the cardboard that calls itself chocolate - we should keep a very vigilant eye on Cadbury's.
