It’s certainly not the first (or the second) time that we’ve mulled over the merits of the pastel pink hair trend here on Grazia Daily. Only last month we discussed Lauren Conrad’s take on the trend and back in March we even made a gallery of all the celebrities currently in the pink.
Then, over this weekend weekend we spotted that there were two new takers of the candyfloss trend. First there was Girl’s Aloud-er Nicola Roberts who unveiled her new do with a snap on Twitter labelled “Ginge gone PINK.” Now, our Nic’s not one to be colour shy – over the years she has experimented with various versions of blonde and brunette, but we have to admit being somewhat surprised by her new tousled pink crop which might or might not be something to do with the fact that she is currently filming a fashion show with her designer pal Henry Holland for Sky Living. Plus it just so happens that it's being produced by pop chameleon Rihanna. Yikes - no wonder she's feeling the pressure to try and stand out.
And then there was the much awaited Met Ball last night. Hot pink was undeniably the colour of the night in a glamorous homage to Elsa Schiaparelli, but it was Coco Rocha who outdid a veritable sea of pink outfits with her hot pink new hair. While we are quite used to seeing bright color-pops in blonde locks, Coco is the first red-head we've seen working the trend and forget pastel pink, these tips were full tilt fuscsia. Paired with her yellow Givenchy jump-suit, worn by Elizabeth Taylor (and with a wine stain to show for it), she made for a true show stopper.
