Carbohydrate

Carbohydrates form the majority of the body’s energy source and should make up about a third of your diet. Approximately one gram of carbohydrate contains four calories. There are two types of carbohydrate; simple and complex. Simple carbohydrates include sugars found in confectionary, cakes and biscuits. Complex carbohydrates include starches and fibres found in unrefined food such as pasta, potatoes and rice.
