Cannes 2012: Jessie J Hits the Red Carpet Working Red Lips and Retro Waves

Sometimes we’re just not sure how we feel about singer Jessie J’s more outlandish beauty looks, but last night there’s no denying that we were all agog at her general fabulous-ness out on the red carpet in Cannes for the 2012 amfAR Cinema Against AIDS Gala at Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc.  While everyone else has been busy swooning over the undeniably amazing animal print Louis Heal double-slit dress (don’t you think Jessie J’s right leg showed Angie’s exactly how to work it?) it was her super gorgeous beauty look that got Grazia team beauty overexcited.

Indeed we knew that we were in for a treat we Jessie tweeted “Red carpet trrraannnssformation time J” before leaving her hotel and hitting the red carpet. And what a transformation it was! With super cute retro red set waves, perfectly defined dark arches, a ladylike red lip and porcelain skin, she not only looked a visual delight, but also set an exemplary example of how to work this season’s uber chic retro beauty look.

Christian Dior and Jason Wu

Amber Heard, Keira Knightly and Gwen Stefani, are all among the inhabitants of celebsville who have worked the old Hollywood trend this season, but it’s not just these famous types who have been testing the trend - the look was all over the spring summer catwalks 2012 too: At Jean Paul Gaultier, Christian Dior, Jason Wu and YSL is was all sculpted, pale flawless skin, deep red glossy lips, set waves and retro rolls.

Want to work to look? A rich red lippie, good brow pencil, heated rollers and oodles of hair spray are a must. Going to give it a go? We dare you!
