By 2050 Almost No-One Will Be Dying Of Cancer: The Easy Prevention Trick That You Can Do At Home

It's an ambitious claim, but apparently we only have 35 years to wait.

As research and medicinal advances continue in the fight against cancer, we are finding more and more ways to treat and, importantly, to prevent the disease.

And now, a new study has claimed that by 2050, almost nobody under the age of 80-years-old will be dying of cancer.

Cancer, in it's many forms, is a ravishing disease that advances quickly and often defies the treatments thrown at it.

It is likely that every single one of you reading this will know somebody affected by cancer.

However, scientists from University College London (UCL) have claimed in a recent report that in a mere 35 years, incidences of cancer could be so vastly reduced as to take away its life-threatening reputation.

We're Already Inching Closer

Professor David taylor, at UCL, has implied that if things continue in the way that they have been, soon it will be very rare for cancer to kill anyone within the "middle-age" bracket.

In the last 20 years, there has already been a huge improvement in the severity of cancer death rates, meaning that, yes, it still kills many people, but now it is much less likely to be a death sentence for younger people.

Indeed, of cancer deaths in the last few years, around half of them were recorded among people over the age of 75.

The Secret To Prevention

The report also had some interesting points to make about cancer prevention, as well as cures.

Believe it or not, a daily dose of aspirin could be the key to staving off cancer for a lifetime.

Professor Jack Cuzick, who led the research at UCL, has stated that a low-dose of the common analgesic is the single most effective method you can use to protect yourself against cancer.

“It is realistic to expect by 2050 nearly all cancer related deaths in children and adults aged up to (say) 80 years will have become preventable through life style changes and because of the availability of protective technologies and better pharmaceutical and other therapies," said the report.

Prof. Cuzick urged GPs to take more affirmitive action when it came to persuading people to take "baby aspirin" for a decade, between 50-65-years-old.Other methods of prevention include not smoking and not putting on too much weight.

What Are The Risks?

Some, of course, were quick to propose that taking a daily dose of aspirin is not without its risks.

Side effects of taking aspirin can include stomach ulcers and other forms of stomach distress, such as bleeding.B

ut with the calculation that aspirin saved 17 lives for each death caused, Prof. Cuzick was keen to push its merits.
