Brooklyn Beckham Thinks Dad David Is ‘Embarrassing’

The father of four reveals his eldest son asks to be dropped off round the corner so his friends don't see him. Bless.

David Beckham is arguably one of the most desirable men in the world but that doesn’t stop him being a source of embarrassment for his kids.

The former footballer revealed that when he takes his brood to school, his son Brooklyn asks to be dropped off round the corner so his mates don’t spot him.

‘He's at the age now where he does not want me to drop him off outside school. He does not want too much affection but, yes, I still kiss him,’ David told Good Morning Britain.

‘As he was walking in to school, I wound down the window and shouted, “I love you” to him. He was not happy.’

Yeah, having David Beckham shout out ‘I love you’ for the world to hear sounds really tough, Brooklyn.

But seeing as David and Victoria’s eldest is about to turn 16 we can kinda empathise with him.

Even if your dad is a world-famous footballer and model, adored by millions and owner of many a fancy car, he’s still your dad and we all know dads are lame.*

According to the 39-year-old, Brooklyn will be celebrating the milestone birthday with a family dinner and most likely a separate party with his friends.

Yesterday, David celebrated his ten year anniversary as a UNICEF ambassador and unveiled the a new initiative called 7: The David Beckham UNICEF Fund – a scheme aimed at tackling seven major areas of child hardship.

‘My fame, my success on the field, opens doors for exactly things like this - the protection of children,’ explained the former England international.

‘Even before I had children it meant a lot to me. It changes people's lives across the world. When people say what's the greatest thing about being David Beckham? It's this. It's helping children around the world.’

David also claimed that his own kids – Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper – will help him out with his new scheme.

‘The children will be getting involved because I'm going to make them. But they are excited about that. They know exactly what I'm announcing today and what needs to be done.’

*Not really, they’re the best.
