The cloak of secrecy surrounding the new series of Broadchurch appears to have been broken by bungling bit-part actors - who have inadvertently leaked details online.

Cast and crew, including stars David Tennant and Olivia Colman, have been tight-lipped regarding the plot line of the ITV show's hotly anticipated second season.

Several different finales have reportedly been filmed so that even the main characters are unaware of how it will end until the moment it's aired.

However, a listing has appeared on casting website CastingCallPro.com that seems to reveal the parts played by a host of minor stars. It gives an insight into what could be expected on the show.

Fourteen people appear to have prematurely detailed their roles in the forthcoming series, which begins at 9pm on Monday, January 5.

They all say they have been filming for Broadchurch in 2014 or 2015. The first series wrapped in 2012 and was aired in 2013.

The exact episode in which they appear in the second series is also detailed in several instances.

Rachel Leigh claims to be playing a chief court usher, Darren Siah says he is a court photographer and Lauren Hillyer is a 'prison visitor'. Maxwell Cavenham, meanwhile, states he is a lawyer, while Paul Hunter says he is a defence counsel.

It suggests that some or most of the show will focus on a trial, perhaps that of Joe Miller, played by Matthew Gravelle. He is the husband of detective DS Ellie Miller, played by Colman, who confessed to killing 11-year-old Danny Latimer at the end of the first series.

Primrose Bigwood, Kathryn Newton and Emma-Rose Payne say they appear as members of the press in the fictional Dorset town. Russell Balogh appears as a character called 'Dave' in episode six, Stephanie Clift stars as 'Mandy' in episode three, and Brendan Murphy is a waiter in episode four.

Benjamin Woof is dubbed as a 'family man' in episode three - believed to be called 'Tea and Sympathy' - which was said to be the code name for the show used by those filming on set.

Avenda Burnell Walsh, meanwhile, is a WPC, and Shannon Tracey has an unspecified role.

Production company Kudos and ITV have so far not commented on the website.

A trailer for the new series, with the tag line "Same town, new secrets," was released in December. "I can't do it on my own," Tennant's character DI Alec Hardy is heard saying to Miller. "Where were you both the night those girls disappeared?" Miller is then seen asking two unknown characters.

Stars Charlotte Rampling, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Meera Syal, James D'Arcy  and Eve Myles are joining the cast.

Broadchurch was principally filmed in Clevedon, North Somerset, and West Bay, Dorset.
