Seventeen-year-old Axelle Despiegelaere was snapped up by the French beauty brand after she was ‘discovered’ in the crowd cheering on the Belgian football team.

Nicknamed the “most beautiful” football fan in the world, social media went crazy for Axelle and L’Oréal Professionnel Belgique quickly signed her up to star in a campaign including a hair tutorial video, which has already totted up over two million views in just three days.

Savvy Axelle was quick to capitalize on her newfound fame, setting up her own Facebook page complete with semi-professional model shots.

Alas, one of these pictures showed the young model posing with a gazelle that she had just proudly shot dead.

The controversial picture was captioned: “Hunting is not a matter of life or death. It’s much more important than that…this was about 1 year ago…ready to hunt Americans today haha :P”

Unsurprisingly, followers were less than impressed with the tasteless shot and some tweeted L’Oréal directly to ask for an explanation.

The beauty brand has since told numerous news outlets including The Independent and Buzzfeed that it has “completed” all work with the budding model.

"L’Oréal Professionnel Belgium collaborated with her on an ad hoc basis to produce a video for social media use in Belgium. The contract has now been completed."

Is three days the shortest modeling contract ever?
