11 Reasons Why Princess Beatrice Is the World's Most Awesome Royal

Kate Middleton is SO 2013

Move over Kate Middleton, Prince Harry and Prince William – there’s a new coolest royal in town, and she goes by the name of Princess Beatrice.

Princess B – who turned 26 this week – is fast becoming one of our fave royals, as she navigates the world of royal duty with being a regular twenties girl in the capital.

Here’s why she’s bloody awesome.

1 She’s not afraid to steal the show.

It was the biggest wedding of the year and watched by millions of people around the world – but Princess Beatrice had no idea that her choice of Philip Treacy headwear would upstage the bride at the Royal Wedding in 2011.

Cue hilarious memes.

2 She has a healthy attitude to her weight.

She’s always had a gorgeous figure. But when she signed up for the London Marathon in 2010 (the first royal family member to do so), Beatrice knew she had to get fit. She worked with a trainer doing boxing, squats, lunges and outdoor workouts to prepare.

3 But embraces her figure.

“She eats, which helps. She eats really healthily but she eats, which is massive in a celebrity world full of people starving themselves and doing crazy fad diets, which I just do not agree with. Beatrice has beautiful curves and she embraces that,” said her trainer at the time.

4 She might be the next royal to wed.

Beatrice has been dating long-term boyfriend Dave Clark, 31, for SEVEN years. He works for Sir Richard Branson as an Astronaut Relations for Virgin Galactic – so he sounds like a pretty good catch to us. There’s even a Tumblr page set up for the couple called ‘When will Dave propose to Bea?’… Royal wedding #2?

5 She has celeb BFFs.

The couple were spotted having lunch with pair Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis at Duck and Waffle in London, before holidaying in St Tropez together. Now there’s been talks of Beatrice planning pregnant Mila’s hen party prior to her walking down the aisle in July 2015. We love it when the showbiz and royal world’s collide – what’s next, Kate and Wills brunching with Kim and Kanye?

6 She stands up for herself.

Everybody loves Kate Middleton – it must be the Royal Wedding effect. But sources claim that Beatrice isn’t actually a fan. The young royal has reportedly complained that Kate ‘gets the glamour jobs, the clothing allowance, the limos and the royal protection team, while I travel economy,’ according to Woman’s Day.

7 She knows Girl Code.

Cressida was understandably devastated when her relationship with Prince Harry ended earlier this year. But despite Beatrice being Harry’s cousin, she was very much Team Cressida – even going so far as wearing matching outfits.

8 She loves a good night out.

Whether it’s the Chiltern Firehouse, Nobu, Mahiki or their local pub, the Punch Bowl in Mayfair, Beatrice and her boyfriend love a night out in the capital just as much as other people their age. Sister Eugenie has even made a few appearances – perhaps they should star in their own reality show!

9 She’s developed her own unique style.

Bea and Eugenie came under harsh criticism with their royal wedding outfits, with some people labeling them (unfairly) the ‘ugly sisters’. But they’ve both blossomed into beautiful young royals, with Beatrice taking a keen interest in fashion (there was once talk of her starting her own fashion line). Dare we say it, she has better style than Kate?

10 She’s a budding actress (sort of).

The then 21-year-old made a cameo in the film The Young Victoria as one of the queen’s ladies-in-waiting. She is in fact Queen Victoria’s great-great-great-great-granddaughter.

11 She’s an over-achiever.

Princess Bea had dyslexia and because of this she delayed her GCSEs for a year. But she overcame it by reading Harry Potter books as a child (amazing) and then went on to achieve a 2.1 BA (Hons) degree in History at Goldsmith’s in London.

Sounds like a legend to us.
