Everyone knows Uber by now, surely - the app-based, low-ish fare taxi service that has grown to gargantuan proportions in the last year. If you live in a big city and haven't taken an Uber ride, you're in the minority.

Well, as part of what we can only assume is a very clever marketing stunt, to soften an image blighted by recent reports of sexual harrassment and unfair surcharges by Uber drivers, the company has decided to throw kittens at the situation.

And to be honest, we're not complaining.

Why?, because kittens.....

Uber customers in Brisbane, Gold Coast, Geelong, Melbourne, Perth and Sydneycan now order the kitten delivery serive, which costs approximately £20 and a cab will bring an actual fluffy piece of tiny joy to your desk, for you to play with, smother in kisses and enjoy for 15 minutes.

The service can be used between noon and 4pm, so no late night drunk kitten dialing.

Animal Welfare

For thos worried about the cats, it sounds like you don't have to.

Uber has teamed up with animal shelters like the Animal Service League of Queensland, who will benefit from the money raised and will also be on hand during the cuddle time, to keep an eye on the fluff-balls and to answer any questions you might have about adoption.

Puppies

The car service has offered a similar deal recently to its American clients - only that time they took puppies on their tour of lonely office workers.
