Is This What Princess Charlotte Will Look Like When She Grows Up?

A forensic artist has created a composite image of how the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's new little girl might grow up to look like

We've only seen a glimpse of the sleeping princess, all tucked up and just a few hours after birth, but an American forensic artist reckons he knows what little Princess Charlotte of Cambridge is going to look like when she's a little bit older.

By taking pictures of her royal parents, Joe Mullins has created a composite image that should give us an idea of what to expect, and unsurprisingly she's set to be a beauty.

Mullins trained as a graphic designer and now works in forensics to help trace missing children. But as well as his serious day job, he has also used his skills for simple amusement, by 'ageing' celebrities and predicting how the children of the rich and famous will look.

To make the prediction for our new baby Princess, Mullins used recent pictures of her parents - William and Kate - to put together how she might grow to look.

He's given her Kate's dark hair and eyebrows, William's ears and jawline and her eyes are a mix of her parents - greenish blue.

Mullins explained that he likes to make the images as cute as possible, while keeping them scientifically accurate.

But then for the new baby Cambridge, he's working with good material. He said: "For Kate and William's baby - I think there is a lot of good genes in the mix there.

"There is a science behind the process. The darker features are more dominant with Kate's olive skin and dark hair."

He added that he as inspiring to give celebrities a go after seeing 'scary' composites out there proporting to predict famous children's future appearance.

“My day job means I have acquired a skill which means it is always in the ball park.

“I was inspired after seeing some other versions of celebrities children that were done. I remember thinking 'those things look scary. I could do something more accurate.

“It’s all forensic art based on family hereditary going backward to make these fun baby images or forward to depict what children will look like now and get them back home to where they belong.”

When it comes to the prediction for Princess Charlotte, she certainly looks more like her mum and doesn't share many similarities to big brother Prince George, perhaps because he so obviously takes after his royal daddy.

It looks like the Cambridges are going to have a mini-me apiece.
