Helena Bonham Carter Gets Naked In Raunchy Shoot With A Hot Tuna

British actress is the latest in line to strip for the Fishlove Campaign - and if this doesn't get sealife a bit of attention, we're not sure what will

Helena Bonham Carter has quite a phobia of fish, making her latest - nude - photoshoot all the more remarkable.

The 48-year-old actress posed naked with a huge tuna for a campaign highlighting the plight of the planet's fish for a Great British Oceans campaign.

She was convinced to take on the project by Greta Scacchi, her friend who has already posed nude for the project - along with a number of high profile celebrities.

“I am a big supporter of protecting the marine environment”, she said. “I’m actually very phobic about fish so when Greta asked me to be photographed naked with a 27kg tuna I was more worried about touching it than getting my kit off.

“Having said that, I conquered my fears and by the end of the morning we'd truly bonded. He will be my Valentine.”

Charity Blue Marine Foundation has been running the Fish Love campaign with Great British Oceans to highlight its concerns around overfishing that is leaving many species of fish depleted. They include the Bigeye tuna that Helena was photographed with.

Helena’s doing more than just getting her kit off for the fish. This week she spoke at a House of Commons committee to ask for more marine reserves in the British Overseas Territories to protect wildlife such as whales, turtles and penguins, as well as fish in the oceans.

In her speech she said: “There is a new movement, spearheaded by the Blue Marine Foundation and others, encouraging the Government to invest in creating marine reserves — fish refuges really — where they are safe from the ravages of industrial-scale fishing and where they can regenerate.

“We all have a responsibility to try and return our world to the next generation in the state we inherited it in, not worse."

Adding: “It would be a sad thing if in our dotage we'd be describing a tuna fish to our grandchildren like we do a dodo today.”

Other celebrities who've been pictures cosying up to fish in the nude include Emilia Fox, Jerry Hall, Elizabeth Jagger, Mariella Frostrup, Gillian Anderson as well as plenty of chaps too with chef Tom Aikens, Richard E Grant and Lenny Henry all getting involved.
