And Gail Porter has spoken out about the issue as the world mourns the death of comic Robin Williams.

The former TV presenter, 43, sat down to talk about the mental health issue, and said it can affect anyone – no matter what your background.
 
“It’s nothing to do with what you do and what you haven’t got,” she told Sky News.

“You could be the person at the end of the street that hasn’t got a home.

“You could be the richest person that’s adored by millions, but it’s something that’s in your head.”

“Believe me, if I could give you money to get rid of it, I would, right now,” she said.

“It’s very, very exhausting and it’s nothing to do with what you’ve got and what you haven’t got, it’s unfortunately [that] something is not wired right in your brain.”

Scottish Gail, who has an 11-year-old daughter Honey with ex-husband Dan Hipgrave, started her career as a children’s TV presenter.

But it was a naked photoshoot of her star that was projected onto the House of Commons that catupulated her to fame.

She’s admitted that she’s suffered from depression from the age of 19 –and was sectioned under the Mental Health Act in 2011.

She’s also been open about her own self-harming and how she suffered from post-natal depression after the birth of her daughter.

Gail also attributes her hair loss through alopecia to stress and depression,and has noticed how the condition improves and worsens in reaction to her mental health

But in recent interviews, Gail said she’s ‘ready to have fun again’ and is set to star in a new comedy play, 69 Shades of Black which is touring from April to June next year.
