A Night With An Adult Movie Star, Orgies And Other Weird Employee Benefits

A company in China has given its top employee a night with a popular adult movie star as a reward for his hard work - but other unusual employee bonuses prove it doesn't have to be so seedy

A Chinese employee in Shanghai celebrated being chosen as his company's top performer with the reward of a night spent with popular adult video actress Hatano Yui.

Yep that's right, his 'bonus' was to spend the night with a woman given to him by his company.

To us it sounds humiliating and degrading for the employee involved, not to mention the actress. And more than that, it shows an alarmingly backwards attitude towards workplace equality that insults both male and female employees.

But it's not the only company to think rewarding men with sex is a good idea for office morale.

ORGIES

German insurance giant Munich Re also thought a night of sex was the best way to keep staff motivated.

One of its divisions, Ergo, organised an orgy at a Budapest spa were the most successful salesmen could attend and take prostitutes to bed to do 'whatever they like'. The women were given colour-coded armbands and stamps so men knew how many times they'd been 'frequented'.

One employee explained: "The women wore red and yellow wrist bands. One lot were hostesses, the others would fulfil your every wish.

"There were also women with white wrist bands. They were reserved for board members and the very best sales reps."

Er...

Fortunately most other companies aren't going down the 'think with your penis' route. Instead, there are actually some pretty cool employee incentive programmes going on that are a bit more inclusive of all employees (not just the desperate and depraved) and hey even women can get involved. Such as...

Florida's Fun Bike Center Motorsports offers a Supermarket Dash every couple of months to handful of its lucky employees who get to race around the local store and stock up on free groceries. Where's Dale Winton when you need him?

FORMAL

Many companies are so chilled out about dress code these days that employees end up wearing their laid back normalwear to the office every day. So Airb'n'b decided to give employees the chance to look smart once a week by starting up Formal Fridays. The chance to get out of jeans once a week? Sounds good to us.

Want a puppy but can't face leaving the little thing at home while you're at work. Plenty of companies are starting to allow a version of Doggy Daycare, where you can bring your dog to work with you. Unsurprisngly Google is one of these companies but does make sure employees are mindful of colleagues with allergies  - and of they must course clean up after their pets.

But it also insists it's a 'dog company' and cats are unwelcome.

LAUGHTER SESSIONS

To relieve stress, some companies have employed Laughter Yoga, where employees lie on the floor or stand around and laugh together. Though we’ve got to admit, it could get weird.

BOTOX LEAVE

For some of us it's hard enough to get away for a doctor's appointment, let alone a tanning session or bikini wax. But Chesapeake Energy Corporation now gives time for its employees to go have plastic surgery and tanning sessions.

Law firms in the UK have started to report companies stumping up the bill for their employees' divorces. Some just offer help with the initail legal consultation but others pay for the whole thing, which can run into thousands.
