X Factor 2014: Cheryl Fernandez-Versini’s Million-Pound Jewels Required Their Own BODYGUARD

She’s famous for her modest roots, growing up as the fourth of five children on a Newcastle council estate.

But Cheryl Fernandez-Versini has come a long old way since her humble beginning as she sported £1 million worth of jewels on The X Factor last night.

The 31-year-old Geordie donned a massive 35-carat Burmese yellow sapphire and diamond ring, from jeweller to the stars Vashi Dominguez of Vashi.com.

It was worth a huge… wait for it - £843,000! She teamed it with 15-carat canary yellow diamond drop earrings that were worth £200,000 (and hardly visible behind her locks, we have to say).

Obviously it pays to impress in the fashion stakes on ITV’s flagship weekend show - but isn’t this a little excessive?!

In fact, Cheryl’s bling was SO impressive that she required a special bodyguard to protect it. Wowzers.

The glamorous brunette – who recently topped the charts for a fifth time – wore the jaw-dropping jewellery with a lime green Matthew Williamson dress.

Cheryl’s butterfly-print dress was inspired by the designer’s recent trip to Cuba and is worth £1,295.

But you could argue that the expense was worth it as she did look absolutely gorgeous on the show (though when does she not?)

Her famous tresses were swept to one side in cascading curls, and her make-up looked sexy and sultry.

She was joined on stage by fellow X Factor judges Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and Mel B, who stunned in a Peter Pilotto dress.

For the performances on Saturday night, Jean Bernard-Versini’s beautiful wife owned the stage in a Zuhair Murad AW14 gown.

The brunette beauty’s couture dress featured a waterfall hem and one-shouldered detail and was styled with strappy pink heels.

If you ask us, Cheryl is absolutely killing it in the style stakes this year. Ten points to her glam squad!
