Transgender Supermodel Lea T. Signs Deal With Haircare Giant Redken

We thought kissing Kate Moss was her career highlight, but Lea T. has just signed another lucrative deal with a beauty GIANT

Kissing Kate Moss, now that's a gig we'd all LOVE to land, right?

But for transgender model Lea T., kissing Kate Moss is old news - she did that aaaages ago, for LOVE magazine.

She's also played muse to legendary fashion house Givenchy.

The 33-year-old Brazilian model hit the big time when she posed for Givenchy's 2010 Autumn/Winter campaign, with four other androgynous-looking male and female models.

Nice.

So this most recent deal shouldn't really come as much of a surprise to anyone.

Lea T., it has just been revealed, is the new muse for American haircare giant Redken.

She'll be showcasing their new chromatics haircolour, just in time for the Hoilday season.

It's no wonder she's been picked - the woman has the most beautiful, silky, shiny perfect hair!

However, the appointment is a fairly landmark event - the beauty industry has been notoriously harder to crack when it comes to diversity.

While transgender models such as Andreja Pejic might have graced the runways long before Lea, the beauty industry has been seemingly reluctant to be so open minded.

Lea has been a brilliant spokesperson for anti-bullying campaigns and has pushed for further acceptance of the transgender community.

Speaking of Redken she said: “They believe in the individuality of the person, and I think that's really important."
