Princess Beatrice Makes A Statement In Alexander McQueen At Savage Beauty Exhibition Launch
With supermodel Kate Moss also in attendance, it was a case of the fashion and royal worlds colliding – but who trumped in the style stakes?
If you’re going to make a statement, you make it in McQueen.
And Princess Beatrice certainly did that as she made a show-stopping appearance at the Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty exhibition launch in London last night.
The 26-year-old cousin of Prince William looked incredible in an androgynous-inspired, tuxedo gown as she honoured the late Lee McQueen at the fashion dinner at the V&A.
In one of the most daring looks we’ve seen on her in a while (especially when you compare it to the Duchess of Cambridge’s wardrobe), Princess Bea’s dress featured a plunging neckline and thigh-high split.
The sixth-in-line to the throne styled her tuxedo dress with pointed heels, a gold box clutch and metallic cuff.
Beatrice’s beauty look for the evening was truly ‘50s-inspired and dare we say it, a little Jessica Rabbit-esque?
Her dark strawberry blonde locks were tonged into glossy curls, with one side pinned behind her ear, while her lips were painted a matte red shade.
It’s one of the few public appearances that Princess Eugenie’s older sister has made since moving to the US to start a finance course earlier this year.
She quit her job at Sony after the hacking scandal, in which her salary (£19,500) was revealed online.
Prince Harry’s ex-girlfriend Cressida Bonas was also at the McQueen event but it seems that despite their past friendship, the pair didn’t bump into each other.
And it was a case of fashion royalty and actual royalty colliding as supermodel Kate Moss also made a stylish appearance at the V&A.
The 41-year-old also honoured McQueen in a sheer lace gown from the brand’s AW15 collection, with her bodysuit visible beneath.
So who won in the style stakes – actual royalty or fashion royalty?!
