Oscars 2015 Fashion Trend: Emma Stone And Lupita Nyong’o Wear Fabulous Vintage Inspired Dresses
We love a throwback look and actresses Emma Stone and Lupita Nyong’o didn’t disappoint by treating us to two gorgeous, embellished gowns that quite possibly were the best looks of the Oscars class of 2015
Every awards season, there are a handful of dresses that make us stop, stare and swoon.
And at last night’s Oscars, we were treated to not one but TWO breathtaking looks – both of which were vintage inspired.
‘Birdman’ actress Emma Stone looked beautiful, as always, in a long-sleeved custom Elie Saab dress that would make Downton Abbey’s Lady Mary proud.
Well, maybe she wouldn’t be so taken with the thigh-high frontal split (which Emma suffered a teeny wardrobe malfunction with) but we reckon it just adds to the overall effect.
Of course, Emma does 1920s fashion amazingly well. Throw in some peach lippy, a side-swept hair do complete with waves and hey presto, you’ve got yourself the ultimate ‘20s gal.
The other gown that we couldn’t take our eyes off was Lupita Nyong’o’s custom Calvin Klein Collection gown.
Featuring a halter-neck style bodice, with a cut-out detail, and an amazing back, it was elegant and memorable – everything you would want from an Oscars frock. Classic Hollywood glamour of days gone by.
But most incredibly, it was made from a mammoth SIX THOUSAND pearls. Yes, six thousand. That must’ve been one heavy gown to sashay around in.
Lupita teamed the dress with delicate drop earrings that showed off her super-short hairstyle. Bravo, Lupita.
