Oscars 2014 dresses: Brits lead the way at the Vanity Fair after party

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Rita Ora and Emilia Clark were just some of the British beauties to steal the show on the other red carpet last night

It's the time to let your hair down, have a celebratory drink or a commiserating cry.

Yes people, we're talking about the Vanity Fair Oscars after party - the hottest ticket in town last night.

While the rest of us were tucked up in bed in our Primark pyjamas, young hot Hollywood partied the night away in some of the prettiest Oscar looks we've seen in a while.

For stars like Jennifer Lawrence it was a chance to ditch the couture (and their undies!) in favour of a younger, sexier mini dress, which we reckon was way more age appropriate for the 23-year-old actress.

For unsuccessful nominees like Amy Adams is was a chance to change into something with a little more room for dancing the night away.

Here at Yahoo Lifestyle we were over the moon to see so many British beauties absolutely rocking it at the VF party last night.

Supermodel and all round stunner Rosie Huntington-Whiteley nailed the lilac trend in a sublime Cushnie et Ochs gown while Kate Beckinsale opted for her usual glamazon look in Elie Saab Couture.

British designers like Julien Macdonald and Jenny Packham were also feeling the love last night as stars including Taylor Swift and Elizabeth Banks wore their beautiful creations.
