Lily James Shuns The Princess Gowns For Custom Balenciaga At Cinderella Premiere
The Downton Abbey actress is famed for her iconic blue ballgown in the Disney film but she gave the fairytale frocks a rest for one night only…
She’s used to wearing perfectly princess-like ballgowns in the film ‘Cinderella.’
But actress Lily James gave the fairytale frocks a miss last night as she stunned in an exquisite, custom-made Balenciaga gown at the UK premiere.
The ‘Downton Abbey’ actress, 25, looked breathtaking in a silver column dress by the French fashion house, headed up by designer Alexander Wang.
The Surrey-born star showed off that famous waist in the bodycon number that flaunted her petite frame perfectly.
Cinderella’s leading-lady styled her premiere look with strappy metallic stilettos and a modern beauty look, consisting of slicked-back tresses and raspberry-stained lips.
Lily was joined by her Prince Charming co-star Richard Madden, 28, at the Odeon Leicester Square, who was suited and booted in a Thom Sweeney three-piece suit.
Richard’s girlfriend Jenna-Louise Coleman let the leading stars take centre-stage at the premiere, but she she still looked red-carpet ready in a fur-trimmed Simone Rocha dress with strappy black heels.
Helena Bonham-Carter, 48, who plays the fairy godmother in the film, opted for an emerald green Vivienne Westwood dress – although her foundation looked a tad too light for her skintone.
Sophie McShera and Holliday Grainger – who play Cinderellas’s ugly stepsister’s – both looked beautiful in their dresses, with Sophie donning one-shouldered Osman and Holliday opting for a white, Grecian-inspired ruffled dress with keyhole detailing.
‘Cinderella’ is in cinemas March 27.
