Kendall Jenner Faces Bullying At Fashion Week As Other Models Resent Her Connections

Backstage bitchiness reportedly included putting out cigarettes in the 18-year-old model's drink

Poor Kendall - nee Kendall Jenner - didn't have the fabulous time we would expect during her whirlwind New York Fashion Week.

The model is keen to be taken seriously without her family connections, hence the ditching of surname Jenner that links her to the Jenner-Kardashian Klan, but it seems other models aren't easily fooled by the lack of a second name.

And according to sources they were rather mean to the 18-year-old.

The source told In Touch magazine: “The other models worked so hard to get a spot on the runway and didn’t think it was fair that she was there.

“They thought she was getting special treatment and just weren’t okay with it."

Presumably the other models were a bit miffed that Kendall hit the catwalks of Marc Jacobs, Diane Von Furstenberg and Tommy Hilfiger despite being really quite inexperienced. And presumed that she was chosen thanks to her family name and brother-in-law Kanye West's connections in the fashion world.

The insider continued: “They started acting so bitchy— some even put out their cigarettes in Kendall’s drink!

"Models can be cruel, especially with someone new and entitled.”

Kendall has recently discussed her hopes for her modelling career, telling LOVE Magazine that she wanted to be taken seriously.

"I want to be high fashion," she said.

Though we can imagine how frustrating it must be to see a young whipper-snapper sailing past you in the career stakes thanks to her family connections, we've got to admit that choosing Kendall to walk is a sensible business decision by designers.

Afterall, who's going to get more column inches? Kendall or some unknown model who's been slogging away on the lower-level catwalk circuits for years?

It's ain't fair, but that's fashion.
