Kendall Jenner, Victoria Beckham And A Barbie Party: NYFW Weekend Round-Up

New York Fashion Week has kicked off with a bang, with NYFW being the first of the Big Four fashion weeks of the SS15 season (followed by London, Paris and Milan).

Here’s what you missed during the first weekend…

1 Kendall Jenner is the designer’s darling.

The 18-year-old Keeping up with the Kardashian star made her NYFW SS15 debut on the Diane von Furstenberg runway, alongside none other than Naomi Campbell, people.

She also walked for Donna Karan and  Tommy Hillfiger. Not bad, eh?

2 Victoria Beckham’s family are just the cutest.

David and his eldest son Brooklyn were spotted on the FROW at VB’s SS15 show – and Victoria shared an adorable card from her husband and children, wishing her luck. Aww.

3 Hood By Air was WEIRD.

Designer Shayne Oliver created a collection that was, he explained, an ‘interrogation of what it means to be a man.’ That doesn’t quite explain the chokers and safety pins, but who are we to argue?

4 Altuzarra delivered the goods.

With Rihanna in your front row, you’ve got to bring a touch of sex appeal to your show. That’s exactly what designer Joseph Altuzarra did this weekend with sheer-hem dresses, plunging necklines and cropped designs making up his look.

5 Opening Ceremony was the conversation starter.

The US fashion house essentially spoofed the fashion world with a performance led by actress Elle Fanning at the Metropolitan Opera House in NY. The play was written by Superbad’s Jonah Hill and it certainly got people talking.

6 Gigi Hadid is the model to watch.

Kendall Jenner’s BFF and the daughter of model/reality star Yolanda Foster, 19-year-old Gigi is the name on everyone’s lips at NYFW and was spotted at all the fashionable parties in the city.

7 Barbie party.

It was the BIGGEST party of the weekend. A joint initiative between the CFDA and Barbie, the Friday night bash saw descend upon the Big Apple for the pinkest party in town.

8 Pastels were the one at Monique Lhuillier.

Mmm… Dreamy.
