Keira Knightley Admits She’s ‘Destroyed’ Her Chanel Wedding Dress

Is it the curse of the Chanel wedding dress? Keira’s admission comes just weeks after Lily Allen lost her 200k custom-made frock

She famously recycled it after wearing it down the aisle last year.

But that’s the last time Keira Knightley can reach for her Chanel wedding dress after ‘destroying’ it with red wine recently.

The 28-year-old British actress – who married rocker husband James Righton in an intimate ceremony in the south of France – explained that her friend spilled wine down the frock on a recent night out.

“It's now got red wine spilled down the front because the last time I wore it my friend went like this [she juts out her elbows] and now it's everywhere. I didn't quite realise the extent of it until I got home,” she told Independent Woman.

“It's quite impressively splattered. But, hey, a good night is a good night and when a dress has had its time, maybe it's had its time.”

But the face of Chanel Coco Mademoiselle revealed she’s not exactly heartbroken at the loss of her designer wedding dress.

“I'm pretty sure I can get it out but, if I can't, I'm happy with the memory of a good night and the story of how the dress got destroyed,” she said.

"I'd worn the dress lots. It was my something old. And I like not making a big deal about it. I just wanted to be in something I had had a great time in, something I would have a great time in again."

Keira’s admission came just weeks after singer Lily Allen said she had lost her Chanel wedding dress.

The 28-year-old Brit singer tied the knot with hubbie Sam Cooper in June 2011 in a custom-made Chanel dress designed by Karl Lagerfeld.

In an interview with presenter Miquita Oliver, the mum-of-two said the most expensive item in her wardrobe was the dress although she said, ‘It's gone. I don't know where it is.’

But a couple of days later, Lily took to Twitter to admit she’s finally found the £200,000 wedding dress: “OK, EVERYONE RELAX, I FOUND IT !!!!!!!!! A couple of weeks ago now [sic]."
