hottest colour of the season.
So Kate Middleton was bang-on-trend in a bright yellow gold dress on her first day of her Australia royal tour, paying homage to the country in the zesty-coloured frock.
The Duchess of Cambridge, 32, had a sunny disposition in a yellow gold and white colour block dress by London Fashion Week designer Roksanda Ilincic.
The knee-length pencil dress – which was reportedly custom-made for her but a similar style retails for £950 – was perfect for stepping off the plane at Sydney Airport as she avoided suffering a similar wardrobe malfunction to when she landed in New Zealand.
The beautiful Duchess – who was joined by husband Prince William, 31, and son Prince George of Cambridge, eight months, as she landed – styled her summer outfit with a trusty pair of nude patent court shoes.
But it seems not everyone was a fan, as she revealed Wills wasn’t so keen on the sunny shade.
‘William said I look like a banana,' Kate told fan Heather Easton at a meet and greet at the Royal Opera House.
Catherine pinned back her brunette locks into a half-up, half-down style, showcasing her natural beauty to onlookers.
She opted for slightly more eye make-up than we normally see on her, choosing a slate-coloured eyeshadow, lashings of black mascara and kohl-rimmed waterline.
The mum-of-one went for very minimal make-up elsewhere as she sported a natural lip colour and a flush of blush to the cheeks.

It’s the first day of the Australia leg of the three-week royal tour, so it seems rather fitting that Kate wore one of Oz’s national colours.

Prince George on the other hand looked rather dapper in a white smocked outfit that bore a striking resemblance to one Prince William wore in 1983.

They will then spend nine further days in Oz before embarking on their trip home to the UK.
