Jennifer Lawrence Stars In New Dior Campaign – But Has The Photoshop Gone Too Far?

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay actress doesn’t seem like herself at all…

It’s business as usual for Jennifer Lawrence.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay actress – who was recently embroiled in a nude photo scandal – has come out of hiding to appear in the latest Dior campaign.

J-Law models the new ‘Be Dior’ flap bag – photographed by Patrick Demarchelie - as part of her fourth campaign for the French brand.

The 24-year-old Kentucky native looks drop-dead-gorgeous in the AW14 campaign shots as she poses in a black trouser suit, allowing the new bag to take centre stage.

But some critics have questioned the use of airbrushing in the latest campaign, with TheGloss.com arguing that she looked ‘obnoxiously Photoshopped.’

She has indeed been Photoshopped, but that’s pretty standard for high-fashion campaigns.

You only need to take a look at a picture of her un-airbrushed to see the difference, but surely that’s just the use of some clever lighting and contouring?

We don’t think the Photoshop wizards have gone too far in these shots – you can quite clearly see that it’s J-Law and we have seen A LOT worse blunders in our time.

However the thing that really bugs us about this campaign – and her Dior campaigns in general – is that her personality doesn’t come across at all.

Yes, she looks stunning, but she also looks – dare we say it – a bit boring?

The trait that sets her apart from her peers is her relatable, down-to-earth personality, and we don’t get a sense of that whatsoever.

Perhaps it’s because when she’s posing for Dior, she asserts a different character, as she explained in a behind-the-scenes video for the fashion house.

“I feel like any time you get in front of the camera, it’s important to have a character in mind or an emotion, just so you have something in your eyes,” she says.

“A powerful woman is someone who exudes confidence and can be tough but fair and kind. And also knows how to get what she wants.”
