Great British Bake Off’s Mary Berry Causes Bomber Jacket Fashion Frenzy
M&S Stork Print Bomber Jacket sold out instantly online after the GBBO judge wore it on the show alongside Paul Hollywood
They call it the ‘Mary Berry effect.’
The Great British Bake Off judge caused a fashion frenzy after the jacket she wore on the show sold out within half an hour last night.
That’s right Kate Middleton, you’ve got a new trendsetter on your heels – none other than our nation’s favourite baker, the one and only Bezza.
The 79-year-old GBBO judge appeared on BBC One wearing the Marks and Spencer Stork Print Bomber Jacket.
Within half an hour, the snazzy bomber had sold out on the M&S website and Mary Berry’s eager fashion followers were greeted with the message, ‘Sorry, but this item is no longer available.’

The jacket is described as a ‘wardrobe must-have’ and a ‘contemporary classic’.
See, we knew Mary Berry had style.
Although her sartorial choices did divide the style critics on social networking sites last night, with some taking to Twitter to call it ‘banging’ while others asked, ‘What Was She Thinking?’
The real winner of #GBBO tonight is Mary Berry's banging trackie top.

But previous fans of the printed bomber won’t be happy at all because apparently the fact that EVERYONE has it already is putting them off wearing it full stop.
“Striking jacket but have seen so many people wearing them I no longer wear mine,” wrote one reviewer.
“Great with jeans but apart from every one having one (even though supposed to be limited collection) its a nice cool jacket.” [sic]
We can’t imagine their responses when they realise Mary wore it on primetime television…
And it’s not the first time people have been talking about Mary’s style.
She hit the headlines for doing a Kate Middleton and recycling one of her favourite outfits (a floral Damart blazer) on TV.
But before that, a floral Zara bomber jacket sold out online after she wore it on the hit show.
We’re not sure Paul Hollywood has quite the same effect!
