Fleur De Force 'By The Water Cooler' Interview: On Cara, Lip Stains And Tanya Burr's Wedding

A vlogger's day is never done, and sweet Fleur De Force is one of the most active vloggers (video blogger) out there.

With three YouTube Channels - Fleur De Force, Fleur De Vlog and Bride De Force - to her manage, plus a written blog and an active social following, she's a powerhouse of activity.

Luckily for us, we managed to catch her at the watercooler for a catch-up, to talk all things fashion week, future trends and Tanya Burr's upcoming nuptuals.

In her own words...

Next seasons's beauty... is a lot more stripped down. I only managed to get down to London Fashion Week for one day - to go backstage at Marchesa with Revlon - and there was nothing really bright or too intense.

I think there will be a lot less of that structured, formal make-up - the kind of no make-up make-up.

Lip stains I think will be really big. And more of the matte finish, especially on the lips.

The 90s revivial is already happening... I like some of it, I don't like all of it. A lot of the 90s stuff depends on your body shape. It looks good on 14-year-old girls, but for me, I can't pull a lot of it off.

I really don't like the platforms or the chokers that look like tattoos. Cropped jackets I love, crop tops not so much. I'm not a fan of my tummy showing.

Dip dyes... are so over.  A few months a go I did a kind of rainbow look, with pink at the top, then blue, then purple and that was really fun, but it washes out so quickly. I like the subtleness as well, like having it underneath, just poking through.

But yeah, just standard dip dyes have been waaaay overdone.

Red Lipstick... is the easiest way to make yourself feel dressed up and confident. That and some high heels.

My favourite shade ever is a limited edition from Chanel, from two years ago, called Famous. It just has that perfect, slight pink sheen to it - not quite red, not quite pink, just somewhere in the middle.

Cara Delevingne... can pretty much pull off anything, but I preferred Kate's look at the Burberry Prorsum runway show. Together though, they're absolute icons.

Tanya Burr... and I are good friends, but I don't know what she's planning to wear for her wedding yet.

She would definitely look great in some of the Julien Macdonald bridalwear, but it's difficult with the catwalk stuff as they tend to be a little bit more sheer than perhaps you would wear down the aisle.

My advice to her would be... wear something comfortable - that's the main thing. I tried on some really heavy, difficult to move in dresses and I just decided to go for light and comfortable. You know you're going to be dancing and you're going to be on your feet all day.

I did have a change of shoes - I went from plain satin ivory, to a really sparkly, glitzy embellished pair for the evening.

They were comfortable for heels, but my feet still hurt at the end of the night.  I think I only sat down for about half an hour!

Current Project

NCS (National Citizen Service) has recently teamed Fleur De Force and gaming YouTuber Ali-A and challenged them to come up with a t-shirt design which, if it's successful will go into production for NCS programme attendees to wear!

It will be a badge of honour for kids who are making huge differences to the communities around them.
