Doctor Oz Demonstrates The RIGHT Way To Pop A Spot On Oprah Show
If you're of a squeamish disposition, DON'T READ ON...
There are plenty of pimple pickers out there.
And there are some people so obsessed with spot squeezing that they regularly scan the internet for yucky videos of bursting blemishes.
Well, if you're into that kind of thing, then this article is for you.
According to Dr Mehemt Oz, who appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show to give us a demonstration, there is in fact a right way and a wrong way of going about it.
The Wrong Way
We've often been told that spot squeezing is actually bad for our skin.
(Though, of course, we all do it anyway).
But finally, a Doctor has come forward to say that pimple popping is actually okay, so long as you do it in a way that doesn't damage the surrounding tissue.
Dr Mehmet Oz, speaking to Oprah Winfrey on her television show, said that you should never "squeeze a pimple", but flushing out the pus is fine.
If you squeeze a blemish, Dr. Oz explained, you "macerate" the skin around it - in other words, you damage healthy skin, causing the tissue to bruise and waste away.
The Right Way
Here we'll take you step by step through Dr. Oz's pimple popping strategy:
Prepare the skin by using a good cleanser.
Take a slim needle and sterilise it using a neat alcohol.
Hold the needle parallel to the skin, NOT perpendicular. As Dr. Oz said, "Do not just jab it into this thing", because you risk harming healthy tissue, plus it will hurt.
Pierce the white part of the spot across the way, then tug the needly gently upwards to create a hole for the pus to come out of.
And most importantly, clean the whole area REALLY well afterwards.
One of the other interesting revelations that Dr Oz made on Oprah's show was that mums are so concerned with their sons' appearances, that they'll do the spot squeezing for them!
Yikes!
