Benedict Cumberbatch And Sophie Hunter Make First Red Carpet Appearance Since Engagement News!
And The Imitation Star’s fiancé scrubbed up well in floral Erdem
Yes, we’re only just coming to terms with it too.
Benedict Cumberbatch is officially off the market but if we had to lose him to someone, who better than theatre director Sophie Hunter?
The British beauty more than held her own on the red carpet last night at the New York premiere of Benedict’s new film, The Imitation Game, in a floral Erdem frock.
She wore her brown locks in simple soft waves and totally nailed the understated beauty look.
Liquid eyeliner, rosy cheeks and a pink lip – yes, yes, YES.
Accessories were kept to a minimum – all except her engagement ring, which we were of course dying to see.
But the 36-year-old coyly kept her left hand hidden behind her fiancé’s back the whole time, almost like she knew…
We did catch a teeny tiny glimpse of the rock though and it looks about as beautiful as we had expected.
We could be wrong but is that a lilac stone?
Why are you teasing us Soph??
The official red carpet debut of Benedict and Sophie got us so excited we nearly forgot that Keira Knightley was there too, looking lovely as ever in a pink printed dress.
Keira paired the mid-length dress with a pair of black Mary Janes and a slick of hot pink lipstick.
But enough about her, let’s get back to Soph and Ben.
Look at them.
It’s been two weeks since Benedict, 38, eschewed social media and decided to announce his new relationship status via the traditional art of a newspaper advert in the 'Forthcoming Marriages' section.
Speculation of an engagement first came to light last month, when reports claimed Benedict had flown to Edinburgh to ask Sophie's mum, Anna, for permission for marriage, because that’s just the kind of gentleman he is.
Anna was asked about their relationship, to which she replied "Watch this space. You never know," which did little to throw us off the scent.
But now the dust has settled, we’ve cried our tears and totally come round to the idea that there is going to be a Mrs. Sherlock.
In fact, we think we’ve found our new favourite red carpet couple…
[Benedict Cumberbatch is engaged. Yep.]
[Can Benedict Cumberbatch do the Keira Knightley pout?]
