Leafy Garlands, Mysterious Eyes And Oysters On The Bus

Outfit Envy

I always struggle with what to wear to a wedding.

I'm not typically a "girly girl" and weddings to me scream "FLORAL AND HATS."

So this week, I was mighty impressed with celebrity hairdresser and my good friend Lou Teasdale's Saint Laurent jumpsuit. Not only did she look impeccably groomed and beautiful, but also really unique and wedding appropriate.

Love that leafy garland.
Love that leafy garland.

She wore her silver blonde hair loose and wavy (very Game of Thrones) even adding a little summery garland (twigs to you and me).

If I did that, people would assume I'd fallen asleep in my back garden. Anyway.. I love this look and thanks Lou for offering for me to borrow this Saint Lauren masterpiece but I eat wayyyyyyyy too many burgers…sigh.

When I go out in the Summer, I'm either a lip or an eye girl.

This week, I'm an eye girl.

I've been obsessed with kohl eyeliner since I was a young teen and my mum taught me how to do the "twiggy" eye really early on. So imagine my happiness when I discovered the "HD brow Kajal" originating in India….it's like a smudgy eyeliner but 100 times more effective.

Better still, you can put it in the inside of your TOP eyelid. Now that's magic.

Thanks to HD BROW my eyes are more mysterious than ever before. I'm like a badger from the 60s.

Woman Crush Weekly

One of my biggest bug bears, is when people have the cheek to say "dress your age"...

Sorry what?

Why does it bother people HOW OTHER PEOPLE DRESS?!

So thumbs up to Gwen Stefani, a mum of three beautiful kids, who totally nailed her 90s throwback combats vest AND heels whilst roaming around this week.

Even though she still looks like she's in her 20's, she's not, and looks cool comfortable and utterly sexy.

I'm saving my twin set and pearls for when I meet the Queen.. now where are my dungarees!!!!

Wine and Dine

I'm not sure why, but lots of people don't like oysters.

I'm the opposite. I'm an oyster obsessive.

This week, even on the hottest day of the year, I decided to go oyster crazy. I wandered down to Southbank and had a little muse around the Festival of Love and I stopped for an oyster or two in an old red bus....

The key for me is lots of tabasco and don't be scared to chew it a little. It's lush.

I'm still waiting for the aphrodisiac to kick in though. And so is my boyfriend ;)

Without sounding like a complete BORE, the weather this week has been ridiculous. I was so hot at one point I slept with a bag of frozen Quorn on my back ALL night!

The next day I was walking around Oxford street in one of my teeny tiny little summer dresses when all of a sudden it started to rain like something out of a disaster movie.

I rushed to the nearest store, which happened to be H&M and found a little AMAZING BLUE MAC FOR AN EVEN MORE AMAZING 30 QUID... Not only was it an emergency puchase, it was a brilliant one at that.

My new fave coat! Woo hoo....

Pause For Thought

It has been a difficult week for many places around the world. Some of the shocking pictures and headlines we've seen in our own national press have been the worst of our generation.

It's sometimes hard to be optimistic when bad things happen to such good people.

So my pause for thought this week is to make every day count.

And be nice. Not for anything in return… Just be nice to be nice.
