Caroline Flack Blog: Nipper Feet, Flackpacking And The Story Behind THAT Tattoo

Happy Feet

Can we have a silly conversation about feet? Ok thanks!

I'm a size 2. I know... It's not right.. Right?

However, even though this may sound cute / weird / hobbit-like, I really struggle to find a good pair of trainers. In JD sports I'm not an adult, I'm not even considered a junior, I'm .. Wait for it... A NIPPER.

Yes, those really teeny, tiny little trainers you buy for your first new born.

I'd love a pair of original Stan Smiths or the new Adidas LA trainer, but alas I think I'm more likely to have flashing lights or wheels.

Thankfully, my boyfriend came back with these beauties from America this week in a lovely size 35...

Thanks Nike!!!! Happy feet :)

Diary Of A Shopaholic

So, I lose everything.

My mother always used to say "if your head wasn't screwed on" - you know the rest. Even worse, I still tie my gloves to my coat.

So hurrrahhh! This week I dedicate my blog to the rucksack...

Not just because once its on your back it can't fall off, but also because you have two free hands at all times.

Imagine the fun.

Let's think of all the things you can do with two hands...Clap, type, juggle, text and so on...

Here are my top rucksacks for this summer...

1. Whistles Verity leather backpack - used for Glastonbury. Managed to dance AND carry beer.

2. House of Holland - bright, spotty, fun and I just really want one. Available August 25.

3. Stella McCartney -  yes, it's expensive, but Stella's rucksack is totally usable day and night and she always uses animal friendly materials.

Tattoo

I don't have many tattoos, but each one stands for something different.

I have two linked hearts on my wrist, which represent myself and my twin sister Jody.

I have a star in my ear, which promotes friendship.

I have one tattoo that I will never talk about.

And this week, I added a butterfly. This, for me, signifies a fresh start and new beginning.

It's been a year of changes in many ways, but I'm just about to start something very new. A rather lovely guy called Steve inked the beautiful wings on my back and now he rests there for life (the butterfly, not Steve... That would be weird).

Fun In The Sun

Last week I mentioned my lovely little trip to Ras Al Khaimah, (courtesy of Hilton who looked after us tremendously) and this week I'm off to Ibiza with my favourite person of all time (Jack)

As I've been away a few times this year I thought is do my little guide to packing .... FLACKPACKING if you don't mind.

1. Always have moisturiser in your handlugge... And try and moisturise thoughout the flight... Try something fresh like Elemis or Kiehl's...

2. Wear factor 50. I know it sounds scary, but it works. There's nothing worse than getting burnt on your first day and having to live with that for the whole holiday. Plus, it's brilliant for tanning ( you go a much lovelier brown) safety first!

3. Invest in a really great sarong and you basically need to take no other clothes on holiday... Well, maybe some.. Sarongs are versatile.. Easy to pack and softer than lying on a towel. I have a leopard print Mulberry scarf that I've used for 4 years. Still feels new.

4. Turn your phone off. And just have a brilliant time. We don't do it enough xxx

Pause for Thought

Many people were affected by the death and suicide of Robin Williams this week.

I understand why... I felt like I knew him and I didn't..

I've seen depression in many forms among my friends and family, I think most of us have. It's an illness that hopefully is becoming more understood. One in four people have experienced depression at some point in their lives, yet many are worried about talking about it and the stigma sometimes attached to it.

It’s an "unseen" disease, but it’s very real. We are our brains.
