Easter 2015: Make-Up Artist Transforms Herself Into Amazingly Lifelike Bunny Rabbit
Make-up artist Maria Malone–Guerbaa creates various characters, including famous celebrities and the Easter bunny rabbit, using only make-up and face paint. The results are pretty impressive…
A talented make-up artist has got into the spirit of Easter by transforming herself into an amazingly lifelike bunny rabbit.
Maria Malone-Guerbaa, 41, typically transforms herself into movie stars and celebrities but the results of her bunny rabbit creation are pretty impressive.
Using just make-up and face paint the mum-of-two couldn’t look more like the Easter Bunny if she tried – in fact, we had to take a second glance after looking at the photos.
The London-based MUA doesn’t use any special effects or prosthetics to create her lifelike creations, instead using brushes and special kryolan paints to recreate the bunny ears, sparkling eyes and a nose.
The illusionist expert, who’s done the make-up for ‘Viva Forever!’ and ‘Rock of Ages’ in the West End, says it takes her up to three hours to finish her lifelike creations.
"My last couple of projects have been animal-themed so, with Easter coming up, it had to be a rabbit this time around,” she said.
"It takes me about three hours in total and I'll stop every twenty minutes or so to take a picture of my progress.
"I just went on my iPhone and searched for rabbit [pictures] online. You get so many then that you can just form your own picture."
The talented make-up artist, originally from Limerick, has always had a passion for art and make-up but only started doing amazing transformations when she started doing face-painting for her childrens’ parties (Sophia, 14 and Adam, 11).
She’s amassed quite a legion of fans including nearly 150,000 followers on Instagram and says some of them have even been inspired to try the transformations out for themselves.
"It's amazing to see other people enjoying my work,” she said.
"I can't quite put into words how flattering it is and it makes the whole thing worthwhile.
"One lady even got in touch who'd been inspired to try it out herself. That was the pinnacle for me: it was so humbling to think that my work had inspired someone else to do the same thing."
