Behind-The-Scenes With Collection Cosmetics For Its Summer 2015 Campaign Shoot!

Celebrity make-up artist Francesca Neill led the team #bts - and she used the cult favourite Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer, of course

Beauty is back in a big, bold way for next season, let me tell you.

Going behind-the-scenes with Collection Cosmetics for its Summer 2015 campaign shoot, I learnt that it’s ALL about bright, in-your-face colour for SS15.

The models sported in-your-face fuschia pink lips, bright two-tone manis and bold, Cara Delevingne-esque brows.

I spoke to celebrity make-up artist Francesca Neill (@FrancescaNeill on Twitter) to find out how she created the looks for the upcoming campaign…

MAKE-UP

The first shot of the day was focused around the new Collection Lasting Colour Lipsticks (out in May 2015), which I found to be super moisturising and highly-pigmented when swatched.

Francesca and the Collection team opted for a matte lipstick (one of six mattes in the new range) in the shade ‘Pink Diva’, which was an almost-neon, fuchsia pink.

She told me that the shade in question added ‘power and impact’ to the ‘fresh, spring’ look, which I totally agree with – it would have looked quite plain otherwise.

For the model’s face, she used the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer and Foundation, which she finds stands up against high-end products including Tom Ford and Armani.

She went for a flawless, dewy finish on the skin, which made the overall look appear fresh and youthful, before sculpting the bronzer’s cheekbones for a contoured effect.

NAILS

Celeb manicurist Vernice Walker (@walkersisters on Twitter) was responsible for the nails in the campaign and wanted to showcase the bright colours in the new Lasting Colour Nail Varnish Collection (out in April).

She decided that doing a two-tone manicure would be subtle way to show off the rainbow of shades so went for a pop-colour theme on the nails.

The nail bed was painted in a glossy, pastel pink shade and the tip of the nail was painted bright pink, the complementary tones working together to create a bright, summertime mani.

HAIR

Michelle Sultan (@MichelleLSultan on Twitter) was tasked with styling the model’s hair for the campaign and went for a ‘young, undone’ hairstyle inspired by Kate Moss.

She tonged loose waves through the mid-lengths to give it movement and used Label.m Sea Salt Spray to give hair a ‘day-old’ feel and KMS Volumising Spray to add dimension.

STYLING

Fatima Truscott (@FB77 on Twitter) was in charge of the fashion cupboard and picked a number of pieces that would suit the bright, bold colour theme, from shops including ASOS and Boohoo.

How much does this rail of clothes just make you want it to be summer?!
