Nine AW14 Beauty Trends That You Can Actually Try Out At Home

From a glossy nude mani to natural-looking contouring and a blue flick of eyeliner, we round up the most achievable runway beauty looks

We know some of the beauty looks on the runways are unachievable.

And even if you COULD achieve them, you might not want to anyway (glitter eyebrows, anyone?).

It can be intimidating for a beauty novice to find make-up and hair inspiration on the runway, so we’ve rounded up our favourite trends for you to try out at home…

1 Green Nails

It’s THE colour to wear on your talons this season. The models at Elie Saab sported glossy, forest-green manicures to complement their matching, opulent accessories.

2 Blood-Red Lips

This was a trend on the Dolce and Gabbana SS15 runway, but we reckon it’s one that can be tried out for autumn too.

Sleek’s True Colour Lipstick in Cherry

, £4.99, is a gorgeous, vivid-red shade that can be used to cheat the designer look.

3 Metallic Eyes

Models at Donna Karan sported shimmering silver eyeshadow all the way up to their brow bone for a daring take on the metallic trend.

Line your eyes with the Collection Galactica Eyeliner in Silver Lining, £2.99, or make like the runway and colour in your entire eyelid.

4 Sleek Top Knot

At Jean Paul Gaultier, the models’ locks were styled into a twisted top-knot high on the top of their heads.

Those with long hair, just spritz with water and then twist it into a bun, spraying with strong-hold hairspray to keep the look in place. Shorter-haired ladies can try the Beauty Works Ballerina Bun, £14.99.

5 Contoured Cheeks

The beauty look at Stella McCartney AW14 saw models including Cara Delevingne with a natural shadow to their faces.

Try a greige (grey/beige) shade such as MAC Powder Blush in Harmony, £18.00 for a pared-back take on contouring.

6 Polished Skin

Models at Mark Fast AW14 had mini-facials before the show to make it look like they’d ‘just stepped out of a winter’s forest.’

Bare Minerals Biolucent Mineral Brightening Treatment

, £39.00, leaves skin looking bright and luminous.

7 Blue Flick

As seen on the Kenzo AW14 runway, a flick of cobalt blue liner is a super easy way to update your beauty look for autumn.

Rimmel London ScandalEyes Waterproof Kohl Liner in Bright Blue

, £3.99, is the perfect shade for trying out the Kenzo cat-eye flick.

8 Laid-Back Locks

Who said runway hair had to be high-maintenance? Models on the Chloe AW14 runway flaunted bed head hair, with one side swept effortlessly behind the ear.

Rough blow-dry locks before applying Mark Hill MiracOILicious Moroccan Argan Oil, £9.99, to lengths and ends to keep it looking clean and healthy.

9 Glossy Nude Mani

The beauty look at Derek Lam AW14 consisted of grey smokey eyes and bare lips, with the nude manicure complementing this laid-back look.

Apply a top-coat on its own to create a bare, glossy sheen – or try Elegant Touch Express Nails in Pastel Nude Caramel, £7.99.
